Overview:
Though the Union only supplies shotguns to their Demolitionists as a secondary weapon it remains an important part of squad combat, being one of the best close combat weapons and excellent breeching weapon.
When it was found that the current shotgun in use, the Remington 1100, was to bulky to be used alongside a LAW-90 the Union Military Developmental Center began working on their own design, when the Unions arms companies caught wind of the need for a combat shotgun they also began working on their own designs.
When they showed their designs to the High President he ordered the Developmental Centers design, which was light weight and easy to use and maintain, and a small company known as Arms for the Nations design, which was reliable and had a selectable rate of fire, to be merged together. After 1/2 a year they had designed and made the first prototype named the USG-1.
The USG-1 is gas operated, using dual pistons and a rotating bolt for reliability and a high rate of fire. All internal mechanisms are chromed allowing a longer life.
The USG-1 has no stock and uses a pistol grip for easy access during combat. It is also much shorter than the standard combat shotgun allowing it to be easily carried but cutting its effective range.
The USG-1 is modular, allowing for easy access to areas which need cleaning and the whole weapon can be taken apart and put back together in under 3 minutes. This modular design also allows the USG-1 to be fitted with different types of stocks, barrels, and handles.
The USG-1 features a selectable rate of fire from semi auto to full auto. To fire in full auto the operator needs to flip the switch on the right side.
The USG-1 features a top rail, a bottom rail and a rail on each side for mounting any accessory necessary.
